New Toronto Maple Leafs defenceman Jani Hakanpaa appears to be nearing a return from a knee injury that caused him to miss the final 13 games of the Dallas Stars’ 2023-24 regular season and their entire playoff run.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. has reached new heights this season.

The Toronto Blue Jays slugger set a new personal best with his 189th hit of the season on Saturday.

The milestone came on a two-out single in the first inning against the Tampa Bay Rays.

Guerrero’s previous best came in 2021 when he was the runner-up for American League MVP.

This season, Guerrero is hitting .322/.396/.551 with 30 home runs and 99 RBIs. His batting average ranks second in the majors behind just Kansas City Royals superstar Bobby Witt Jr.
