Leafs camp is rife with storylines, but for all the talk of new captains, new coaches, pending UFAs and young guys pushing for spots, the thing that figures to most directly impact Toronto’s fortunes is how well Joseph Woll, Anthony Stolarz and perhaps even old friend Matt Murray perform in net.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. has reached new heights this season.

The Toronto Blue Jays slugger set a new personal best with his 189th hit of the season on Saturday.

The milestone came on a two-out single in the first inning against the Tampa Bay Rays.

Guerrero’s previous best came in 2021 when he was the runner-up for American League MVP.

This season, Guerrero is hitting .322/.396/.551 with 30 home runs and 99 RBIs. His batting average ranks second in the majors behind just Kansas City Royals superstar Bobby Witt Jr.
